Performing Arts – A burning passion

When not working with classic cars, Iain loves to focus on his other passion in life – the performing arts. His creative talents extend to music, acting, voice-overs, narration and more.

Iain’s love for the performing arts stretches back forty years to when he first took part in amateur dramatic performances as a teenager. Having been trained in operatic voice control techniques during the 1990s, he is an accomplished singer who was at one time contracted to perform with American jazz artist Ben Tucker and his band, touring the southern states of the USA in 1998 and appearing live on NBC television. Other artists such as Ravi Coltrane joined Ben’s band to jam with and accompany Iain at this time.

Iain is also a versatile bassist, writer, arranger and producer of music, a great mimic, and having now launched Tyrrell Torques, he’s also a regular blogger too. Suffice to say he has a broad range of creative talents in his locker, which means he is regularly in demand for a range of roles such as guest speaking at corporate events, charity concerts, acting and voice-overs for adverts, and TV and radio programmes.

Iain’s range of acting experience includes performing in festivals, open-air Shakespeare and radio, playing both straight and comedy roles . He once acted in a murder mystery alongside the highly respected English actress and comedian, Helen Atkinson-Wood. Set at the Lily Langtry Manor in Hampshire, the play was broadcast on BBC Radio Five Live.

Iain is open to hearing about interesting projects where he can apply his creative talents. To find out more about working with him, please get in touch.

You can listen to Iain’s music on various platforms such as Apple Music, Amazon Music, Deezer, Soundcloud and Spotify.
